A traditional tried & tested remedy combining the anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory properties of Elderflower (Sambuccus nigra), Nettle (Urtica dioica) and Plantain (Plantago spp.). This recipe creates an infusion.
Take the a couple of leaves of Plantain and Nettle (fresh or dried), and a 50p-sized piece of fresh elderflowers and place in a small tea pot or a mug.
Cover in freshly boiled water and cover with teapot lid... or.... a small saucer over the mug for 5-10 minutes. This keeps all the lovely fragrant compounds in the infusion so that they do not evaporate away.
Drink! have up to 3 times a day.
For really a effective hayfever kick, you should start with the (dried) herbs in February, as well as adding local honey and bee pollen to your diet.
